What do you mean? Shattenkirk would be a good add. Lucic is garbage. Oshie is fine but we suck so why sign him.

You don't list where you're from, but presumably its not in the greater Manhattan area... which is where the Devils play.

Lot of the Swedes and younger guys who aren't married are living in penthouses in Manhattan while on the Debbies. Its not a bad place to play considering you get the NYC life without the NYC media after every game.

I meant like every quality free agent there is a problem with so we get some rationalization on why we are better off without them do we add no high end talent. Except in cases like Hall where we trade away similar value.

We aren't drafting our way out of this alone. And while Ray does add a nice trade each year we aren't really making progress.

I want to see them spend some money and look like they want more then a bargain payroll.

Clowe and Cammarelli were highly regarded UFA's and how are they working out. Ryder(was crap), Brunner(demoted/traded/loan, don't remember), Tallinder(traded, Volchenkov(had to buy him out), Rolston(traded).

Let's look at other signings, Ladd, Beleskey, Yandle, Clarkson, Horton, Moulson, Pominville, Brouwer, Gaborik, Soderberg, Pouliet, Bobby Ryan(resigned), Phaneuf(wasn't a UFA), Colin MacDonald, Paul Martin, Callahan(resigned).

How are those players doing with those teams?

Here are two trades to quicken the process(could possibly switch the 2nds):

Santini, 2017 2nd(BOS), 2018 3rd to WIN for Trouba(and maybe Lowry)
2017 3rd(SJ), 2018 2nd to MIN for Brodin and Pominville

Unless you're Minnesota and you take a certain team's captain But no, I agree hunda p, just wanted to take a shot at Parise. Refreshing to hear Shero shares the same feeling as us regarding UFA shopping.

Much needed after Lou's disastrous spending sprees in UFA (Clowe, Volchenkov, Rolston, Cammallari).. I think he was forced into overpaying for stop-gap UFA's because Conte's picks never gave him steady roster players through the system in the last 5 years.
